Functional Chemicals is one of Akzo Nobel’s most versatile business units, as well as being one of the most complex.  The chemicals we produce can be found in a vast array of products.  These include toothpaste, ice cream, diapers, wallpaper, adhesives, bakery goods, deodorants, latex paints,  cosmetics and detergents. 

But not only that, our products are also used for the cultivation of agricultural and horticultural crops and by the mining, oil, and power generation industries.  Basically, we make products for a diverse range of markets.  Some of the products may sound unfamiliar-chelating agents, carbon disulfide, ethylene amines, —  highquality resdispersible powder polymers,  but many people come into contact with them everyday, without even realizing it.
